Our Solutions For Nervous Patients

Let’s face it there are very few people who actually look forward to going to the dentist. Whether it’s because of a bad experience in your past, or because of something you’ve heard, you probably feel at least a little apprehension when sitting down in the dentist’s chair.

Our mission at Street farm Dental is to change the way people think about going to the dentist, and to help our patients realise that coming to our practice can be a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Our clinic is equipped with high quality, ergonomic chairs, and entertainment systems to help you pass your appointment in comfort but, if your nerves do get the better of you, we also have a range of further options to help you through the process.

%

Are nervous patients

Fact is, the BDA (British Dental Association) quotes that “over 50% of the adult dental population do not visit a dentist on a regular basis.” In our experience one of the main reasons is the fear factor associated with seeing a dentist.

Dr. Gohil has successful treated hundreds of patients to provide cosmetic treatment and pain relief to very nervous and anxious patients.

Dr Vijay Gohil has studied the latest safe therapies to help patients overcome their fears, anxieties and phobias, safely, easily and in most cases very quickly. For many people, dentalphobia is the result of a previous experience in which their dentist was either unsympathetic to the distress or ignored their needs completely. We are committed to the welfare of our patients and work hard to ensure that your comfort, happiness and safety come first at all times, so that situations like that will never arise.

If you’re nervous about any aspect of your treatment, please speak to one of our staff today to book a consultation and let us help you to overcome your fears.

Techniques Used By Our Dentists

Neuro Linguistic Programming

NLP as it is more commonly known is the study of how the human brain puts information together. NLP has become more known to the public thanks to people like Paul McKenna and Anthony Robbins who have very successfully used NLP to improve the lives of millions of people around the world.

It is helping people get from where they are in life to where they want to be, for example, from being anxious to confidently having dental treatment. It uses the simple use of language and techniques to help overcome barriers people construct in their unconscious minds that hinder their well being.

Temporal Dynamics & Fast Phobia Cure

Consider this, one of the most effective ways is the use of this brilliant technique called Temporal Dynamics incorporated with the traditional Fast Phobia Cure, which in our hands has given many of our clients an instant change of images and feelings associated with dentists and dental treatment.

The technique uses relaxation therapies and language to help committed clients feel good, cooperative and fear-free about having dental treatment.

E.F.T (Emotional Freedom Technique)

The use of this simple and very effective technique has, in our experience, reduced anxiety in our clients from a scale of 10 to about 1-2 in as little as 2-3 minutes. It’s amazing to see the results that this can have and the ease at which patients feel so much better

Hypnosis

The use of hypnotherapy is very effective for some of our very nervous clients, and sessions are arranged if clients request them and if they are advised by our highly trained dentists before or during treatment procedures.

Sedation

Dental sedation involves using IV sedation (Intravenous Conscious Sedation); this is administered into the blood during dental treatment and relieves any anxiety as you would be in a state of deep relaxation. Patients are conscious throughout the treatment, and can understand and respond while under sedation. However, most patients do not remember much (or anything) about their appointment, and often time will appear to pass very quickly for them. Prices start from £250 for sedation. If you would like to find out more about dental sedation and how it can help you, then please speak to one of our team.
